Effective in a Crisis:  Members of houses of worship are generally very good at listening and empathizing, and that can make an immense difference in how well and how quickly disaster victims can begin the recovery process and get on with their lives.

Good Neighbors:  Serving as a Designated Emergency Evacuation Shelter is a tangible way for a house of worship, already a fixture in the neighborhood, to directly and visibly serve their neighbors and make their community a safer place to live.
